Favorite YouTube Yoga Instructors – Guest Post

In addition to being a regular gym attendee, I love doing yoga. Whether I need to stretch out, detox, warm my body up, or simply want a low intensity workout that can still make me sweat, yoga is my jam!

Whenever I tell someone I do yoga, they usually follow up with the question, “where do you go?”. I’ve done yoga at a yoga studio maybe 7 times in my life. I really only go when a buddy of mine wants to go, but doesn’t want to do it alone. So, most of my yoga is done in the comfort of my own home.

I know that there are a lot of people who, whether they’ve been doing it for years or are just starting out, prefer to do their yoga flows at home. And there’s nothing wrong with that. Through DVDs, YouTube, and fitness apps, you can pick and choose the instructor and the yoga style that best fits you. All without having to sweat in a crammed 90-degree room!

If you’re new to yoga, or looking to make your yoga flow more of a home practice, it can be tough to find the right instructor for you. There are so many amazing ones out there, it could feel overwhelming to have to sift through each one to find the perfect one.

After a few years of scrolling through YouTube for yoga videos, I’ve accumulated short list of instructors that I love. While I’m rather fond of several of these yogis, I’d like to share with you my top 3 YouTube yoga instructors in the hopes that one of them may be the perfect fit you’ve been searching for.

1. Yoga With Adriene: Yoga With Adriene was the channel that started my yoga journey. I had tried a couple others before finding her page, but when I did, I loved it. If you’re just starting out as a yogi, I highly suggest checking her channel out. She’s very easy to follow, is so encouraging, and has an entire list of videos that just focus on what each pose is and how to do it properly. Great for beginners! Her focus is always on being mindful and aware of your body and what it’s doing through the whole flow, and encourages you to make your yoga flow a full body experience. No headstands or other fancy inversions here! Just solid yoga routines that will make you sweat and feel good!

2. Sadienardini: If you’re looking for a yoga routine that’s got so much fire it’ll make you melt into your mat, then Sadie is your girl! This is not your regular yoga routine. Hers are intense! If you don’t have a lot of time but you’re looking to get in a solid workout, sweat like crazy, and have calories burning hours after you’re done, try a Sadie yoga routine. I wouldn’t suggest this for new yogis unless they’re really looking for a challenge. Otherwise, she may scare them away. Seriously, I remember the first time I did one of her videos. I was sweating, out of breath and my abs were killing me the next day! Definitely not your typical yoga routine. They kick my ass every time, but sometimes that’s just what you need. So, need to add some fire to your yoga routine? Go for Sadie!

3. Yoga By Candace: This is a great channel for intermediate to advanced yogis. There’s a lot less intensity than you’d find with Sadie but it’s definitely more advanced than Adriene. So, it’s a great channel for those yogis who are looking to expand their skills. If you’ve been working on things like forearm headstands, grasshoppers, baby grasshoppers, and side crow pose, then this is the instructor for you. Even if you haven’t started working on those things, or have no idea what they are and would like to learn, this is a great yoga channel for you. It was while following one of her routines that I did my first forearm headstand and I was so pumped! It certainly wasn’t a perfect one, but it encouraged me to keep working at it to get better. Definitely a good channel for expanding your yogi skills!

Between these three channels, I’ve pretty much got what I need! I’ve got one for days that I’m feeling lazy or just need a good body warm up/ detox. I have one for days that I want a kickass yoga routine in a short amount of time. And I have one that allows me to work on and advance my yoga flows. I’ve got my perfect balance!

Those are my top 3! What are yours? List them down below!
